think we all need at least one really nice positive thing about the
entertainment business every single day of the year, including weekends.
Sometimes it may be something simple, like a video that showcases
something fun and sometimes it may be a movie poster that embraces the
aesthetic we all want Hollywood to aspire to. Sometimes it may be a
long-winded diatribe. Sometimes it’ll be from the staff and extended
family of CHUD.com. Maybe even you readers can get in on it. So, take
this to the bank. Every day, you will get a little bit of positivity
from one column a day here. Take it with you. Maybe it’ll help you
through a bad day or give folks some fun things to hunt down in their
busy celluloid digesting day.

What I’m Thankful For:

This is an incomplete list of people who have given their valuable time and energy towards making this site (and its appendages) worthy enough to have survived a very long time. These people were vital, and I’m forgetting DVD reviewers, comic book reviewers, and many people who tried to help us out with news over the years. It’s just too dense a list and I did the best I could with limited tools and a rapidly declining mind. Look at this list of people:

Devin Faraci. Brian Koukol. Joram Manka. Eileen Bolender. Shelby Magana. Justin Pogue. Jeff Heimbuch. Dave Davis. John Makarewicz. Sandra Bruckner. Adam McAllister. Damon Houx. Lewis Cox. Brian Koppelman. Dan Whitehead.

That’s a partial list, and if I forgot you it’s not because you don’t matter. It’s because it’s been a very daunting exercise for me and I know I’m forgetting more than I care to think of. People I love. People who mean an awful lot to me. I apologize. I will amend this list if need be.

But there’s more…

These are readers and friends who have helped us through thick and thin. Some very desperate times and some months where the only way hosting or staff was able to exist was because of their generosity. Once again, a partial list.

But there’s more…

There are almost forty-five thousand registered users on our message boards. Friends. Enemies. Complete strangers. Lifelong friendships, deaths, births, hardships, and glorious moments all have transpired here. At least one marriage exists because of the community we’ve forged. People have come here with the most heartbreaking news and tales of great adventure. We found a refuge here on 9.11.01 when many major news servers were down and we kept each other as sane as possible until we too collapsed under bandwidth overage.

You supported me through many dumb decisions and many lame attempts at what I thought was improving the site. We were the official message boards for Osmosis Jones for God’s sake. I’m sure I’ll make more dumb decisions, and for some reason I know a lot of you will let me know and some others will endure my frivolities because you see the big picture.

You’ve made this a home for some people. That cannot be bought, faked, or expected. It can’t be taken for granted.

I am flabbergasted. As proud I am at the site being what it is and still being of value to so many, I stand in awe of you. When it comes to the internet and my place in it. I owe it all to the people above and to you, the readers. Thank you so much for being you and letting me be me.

Happy Thanksgiving.

By Christmas you’ll have a new CHUD.com, hopefully one that reflects the improvements you want and gives you a lot more reasons to hang around.
