The world is in short supply of true badasses of the television and silver screen. The 80’s was chock full of them, but nowadays I find very few that meet my standards.

I honestly only held Horatio Caine of CSI: Miami and Michael Weston of Burn Notice as the only two badasses currently on my radar. I cheer whenever they are on TV with H’s witty one-liners and Michael’s keen McGuyver sense. Maybe it is just the sunglasses.

Then the other night I sat down and watched Flashpoint featuring my newest Badass inductee Donnie Yen. I’ve always been a fan of Donnie Yen, but it wasn’t until I saw him in Flashpoint that I knew he was truly a Badass.

It has GOT to be the sunglasses. Donnie wears his well and plays a hardcore cop. He also knows how to fight, shoot and beat the shit out of guys who throws kids into the street. All necessary parts of badassery. Horatio of CSI does EVERYTHING he can to help the childrens of the world. Michael Weston also has a soft spot in his heart for helping children.

Driving nice cars helps too. Michael drives a Charger, Horatio drives a Hummer and well Donnie Yen can drive his fist through your head.

So maybe my criteria involves wearing sunglasses, being of noble cause, protecting the children, driving nice cars and being able to kickass.

I guess Whitney Houston qualifies as well…  I might need to rethink this.

If you have any badasses that I need to review, please post your thoughts on the boards.
