Above is the ‘gag teaser’* for the new film from Adam Rifkin, the guy who directed Detroit Rock City (a serious candidate for a future CHUD Essentials), called Homo Erectus. It’s a caveman comedy, and the clips and trailers that we’ve been supplied with (see below) indicate that this is what Woody Allen may have made if he directed Ringo Starr’s Caveman.
Rifkin plays an evolving caveman who is woefully out of step with his fellow primates and just can’t get laid. Ali Larter is the cavegirl who he loves and Tom Arnold is the homo Homo Erectus who loves him. Also in the film are Talia Shire, Gary Busey, David Carradine and a naked old man called Old Fool.
We’ve been sent a whole buncha buncha links to clips and stuff from the film, including some green screen gags where Old Fool has been composited into old movies. I don’t know when Homo Erectus is due out, but I’ll be keeping my eye on this one.
