Not a whole lot happened over the weekend worth talking about, except for the item which I wrote up on Saturday. I’ve been getting some good feedback from that little opinion piece; chime in on our message board. TS Eliot would want you to.

Those of you excited for Irrational’s upcoming 360 title Bioshock can head over to ShackNews to download a brand new gameplay video. The seven minute WMV file explores some familiar territory and some new, with bells-and-whistles narration that covers the correct method of hunting the game’s iconic "Big Daddy" creature.

The IndyGamer blog kicks ass. There’s an item of news for you. In related coverage, said blog has published a list of their top ten shooter remakers of 2006, where "remake" is defined as having been inspired by previous commercial games. This list of freeware shmups and action titles won’t offer quite the length of gameplay that IndyGamer’s adventure game roundup did, but the titles are all worth snatching. My favorite is the light-cycles-in-3D Counterclockwise.

The Game Developer’s Conference — that’s the one where people speak intelligently about gaming — is firing up today. The content for this roundup will expand accordingly, I imagine, as keynotes occur (Phil Harrison’s should be a scream) and minor revelations are visited upon the attendees. In the meantime, your consoles and computer need feeding:
