EllisonInvisible Man is one of the most definitive and widely read works about race in the US. Still, Ralph Ellison’s Invisible Man has never been made into a movie. That’s not necessarily about to change, but at least it’s inspiring an action thriller that hoists half the name: Invisible.

That’s where the similarites appear to end. The synopsis sums up a bank heist masterminded by a real charmer and the obsession of a lady-cop to find him. Maybe he hides in a basement via the sewer or maybe he leads a group of his peers to rise up, because nothing says introspective insight into the African-American experience of the 50’s like a bank heist pursuit movie.

Invisible is being produced by Infinity Media, which also produced the upcoming Bernie Mac sure-fire hit Pride and the creepy and psychotic looking Bug, starring Ashley Judd.
