http://chud.com/nextraimages/host_ver6.jpgFor just 11 million dollars, Korean director Joon-ho Bong did with The Host what the folks behind the Godzilla remake couldn’t accomplish with ten times the budget – he made a wonderful monster movie that’s exciting, funny and emotionally involving. The Host is a terrific film, and I guarantee that it’s going to end up on many a Chewer’s year-end top ten list.

I reviewed the film way back when it hit the New York Film Festival, and Andre Dellamorte interviewed the guys in The Orphanage, the FX company that brought the movie’s aquatic monster to life. Dre’s going to have an interview with the director pretty soon as well.

All of this, of course, is for the release of The Host, which hits theaters this Friday (click here to see where it’s playing). We want to get the word out to as many people as possible, so for this contest – in which you’ll be winning a signed original Korean Host poster*! – you’re going to introduce folks to the film. Here’s what you do:

Send at least two friends an email telling them about The Host, and directing them to the official website – www.hostmovie.com – and to my review. CC me on the email (devin@chud.com) and you’ll be entered for a chance to win. To make life easier, the subject of the email should contain the words “The Host” so I can filter all the entries and keep them separate from spam.

It starts now! Get emailing!

* We have three coming to us. There were a number of Korean designs – I don’t know if all three are of one design or if there’s an assortment. They’ll be randomly sent to winners. Click here to get a look at all possible posters.
