has so many divisions – Fox, Fox Atomic, Fox 2000, Fox Faith, Fox Kuato, Fox Searchlight – that I can’t even tell them apart anymore, and I write about this stuff every day. So I don’t know what it exactly means when Another Bullshit Night in Suck City has come to be under the Fox 2000 banner. I think I know that if it came under Fox Atomic it would be aimed at teens. If it came to be under Searchlight, it would be aimed at Oscar voters. If it came to be under Fox Faith, someone would get fired. But I really don’t know what the fuck Fox 2000 does.

Luckily, I do know what Another Bullshit Night in Suck City is. It’s yet another memoir in the inexorable wave of such books started by Dave Eggers, and this time it’s about a guy (author Nick Flynn) who works with the homeless and one night finds his father in the shelter at which he works.

The film has been written and is being directed by Paul Weitz, the half of the Weitz brothers we usually think of as directing (even though he and brother Chris tag teamed a couple of their early movies). Look for the big name change announcement soon enough.
