You know that we at CHUD loved Pan’s Labyrinth (read my review and Nick’s review). Did you know that so does everyone else? The movie has been getting amazing reviews across the board – 99% at Rotten Tomatoes (only “Modern Fabulosity” didn’t like it, calling it “too sophisticated.” Oooh boy) and Metacritic has it as receiving “Universal Acclaim”.
Of course the big question for many of our readers has been “When the hell will I be able to see it?” Seriously, you guys should just move. I can’t imagine living in a town where the good movies never come out. At any rate, there’s good news for many of you – the city expansion timetable for the next couple of weeks is here, and it looks like Pan’s will be playing most of the major cities in North America by the end of the month. And if the film continues to do as well as it has in limited release (ie, extraordinarily well), it’ll probably be going even wider in February… after it gets nominated for Best Foreign Film!
