There’s nothing like mother nature wacking your wife to drive a man to make inadvisable scientific advances. As The Fountain so poetically taught us, death is a thing you just have to accept and obsessive science isn’t going to turn out well for you. That wont’ stop Liam Hemsworth’s character from trying in a new script from Bill Kelly called Timeless that Phillip Noyce (Patriot Games, Salt) is set to direct. The story is about a scientist driven by the tragedy of losing his wife to seek out a means to “turn back time.”

Please joining me in praying to any and all relevant gods that Cher does not become involved at any point.

Liam is of course the Hemsworth bro who isn’t Thor, and though that might make him expendable, he’s certainly not feeling any hunger for– I’m sorry. Let me try this again…

Liam Hemsworth (The Expendables 2, Hunger Games).

This is a relativity media joint, and is a project quite in character for writer Bill Kelly, as aside from writing Enchanted, he seems to have a fascination with time travel movies. That interest manifested very differently in his other two major scripts: Blast From The Past and Premonition. Those are pretty different movies that both involve some timeline-bending stuff in one way or another, so perhaps this script will be his time travel magnum opus.

At least this will keep Noyce off of a Salt sequel no one needs!
