One of the most surprising things about 50 Cent’s movie Get Rich or Die Tryin’ was how utterly terribly Fiddy was as an actor. Sometimes I would stare at the screen in wonder and amazement at how bad he was – it was like Fiddy was a one dimensional being let loose in a three dimensional world. Seriously, I’ve seen better emoting from actual retards and wrestlers.
Being utterly inept hasn’t stopped Fiddy from continuing his work in Hollywood, much like being utterly burned out and obviously no longer giving a shit has not stopped Robert DeNiro from collecting paycheck after paycheck. Like he’ll be collecting a paycheck for New Orleans, a film where he pairs with 50 Cent as NOPD officers. Way to challenge yourself, Bobby.
DeNiro will play a cop who thinks his partner died in Hurricane Katrina, but it turns out that he was shot to death. 50 will play DeNiro’s new partner, which means that the two will have a lot of scenes together. Most of these scenes will involve DeNiro sneering and 50 looking confused and disoriented (that’s his “acting face”). Together they’ll investigate the death and discover a world of police corruption. In New Orleans? What a shocker!
The film was originally called Microwave Park, and was set in Los Angeles, but after Hurricane Katrina hit the producers saw an opportunity to exploit a disaster area.
