Just when you thought Sly Stallone was on a roll – Rocky VI is hitting theaters this Christmas (thank you Santa Claus!) and Rambo IV is set to begin filming early next year – a terrible obstacle has risen before him. A great big fleshy obstacle. The Weinsteins.
The Bros Weinstein filed a lawsuit on Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, claiming that producer Nu Image offered distribution rights to Rambo IV: In the Serpent’s Eye to Lionsgate when the Weinstein Co has right of first refusal.
I don’t pretend to know enough about the law to even speculate whether this would hold up filming on the new Rambo movie; all that I know for sure is that a film where Rambo invades the offices of the Weinsteins and blows Harvey up with an explosive arrow (sort of Mr. Creosote by way of Rambo II) would be a smash hit.
PS: A quick look at Google Image Search indicates that Rambo is an incredibly popular name for pets.
