Going to put Ask Skeletor on hold for a bit. For one thing I don’t want to over do it, and for another I want to wait until I have a good bunch of questions to be going on with.

So please keep sending them in and we will revisit it soon.  With that in mind I still have a blog to write, so on with the show.

When I was 18 I was convinced that I would never change, that I would be the same person I always had been. Doing the conventional thing was for everyone else, I was always going to be cool.*

I don’t think the way I did when I was 18 anymore, but I do have to do a double take when I realise it’s been 10 years since I was in my early 20’s.  Life has sure moved on since then and I find myself with a different set of priorities.  And it’s those those priorities that make me question, am I still as much of a geek as I used to be?

Looking at some of my friends Facebook pages there are people out there who have seen almost 600 films this year, I myself have managed about 90.  I would have loved to have seen more but the truth is I just havent had the time.  Now I know what you are thinking. You are thinking that perhaps if something is that important maybe I should make the time? Perhaps that is true but truth be told I like having other things to do. I like the fact that between now and Christmas (for example) I don’t have a free weekend – it makes me feel, well, wanted.

I don’t think i will ever stop being a geek. But I do think that there is nothing wrong with growing up a little bit, provided that is you keep that sense of wonder and enthusiasm that brings out the best in all us nerds.

OK so that was a bit of a short one this week. Next week i’m going to bust out a column I wrote for guy.com that never got published, which was a bit of a twist on my old “Great British Heroes” series.

Oh and a few of us are working on a second entry to the relaunched Saturday Morning Cartoons series – which I hope we will bring you soon.

Till then, take care.

* Cool as I saw it.
