Roger Corman: he launched the careers of dozens, filled theaters for decades, made good money off (very often) bad movies, and he’s the subject of Corman’s World, a documentary from Alex Stapleton.
I love that we keep getting these super slick, highly entertaining documentaries about the grungier fringes of Hollywood history, which is typically where all of the really interesting stories are located. Corman’s World is filled with a ton of familiar faces — Martin Scorsese, Jack Nicholson, Ron Howard, Jonathan Demme, Robert De Niro, Peter Fonda, Bruce Dern, David Carradine, Pam Grier, Catherine Hardwicke, Eli Roth, and Paul W.S. Anderson to name a few — and clearly brings a sophisticated style to a not-so-sophisticated filmography. Watch the trailer below, or in HD at Apple Trailers.
