I’m not gonna lie – this year has been sorely disappointing when it comes to movies. Sure there have been a handful of high quality blindsiders and a few prepackaged blockbusters that scraped past average, but 2006 has really dropped a heavy steamer on the chest of film fanatics. Will next year prove any better?
Based exclusively on what I witnessed at Comic Con, I’m already optimistic for 2007 if only for one reason: Zack Snyder’s adaptation of Frank Miller’s historical graphic novel 300. Unfortunately, according to Snyder himself at the film’s official site/blog, that phenomenal-looking (and enormously well-received) footage, which I described to the best that memory allowed RIGHT HERE, won’t be making it online.
However, on the plus side, the encouraging response to the Comic Con footage has prompted an official (meaning MPAA-approved, apparently) teaser trailer, which should be hitting theaters within the next month. In the meantime, Warner Bros. has unleashed these posters that were revealed at Comic Con — you can check ‘em out in full grandeur at the official site.
