Ok, this movie has nothing to do with The Fly II, but I just wanted to use the tagline.
There have been many children of directors that want to join their fathers in making films. Sofia Coppola, Jennifer Chambers Lynch, and now the son of one of the greatest horror film makers is going down the route his father already has.
According to Shock Till You Drop, Brandon Cronenberg is doing a movie called Antiviral Most of the elder Cronenberg’s early films dealt with body horror (I think only Fast Company, which deals with racing cars, and doesn’t have anything to do with vaginal stomachs, sex slugs, or manifestations of rage that grown on one’s side.) It will star Caleb Landry Jones who had a role in this past summer’s X-Men: First Class.
The plot for Antiviral is as follows.
“a clinic that replicates celebrity diseases for public consumption.” Jones will play a salesman who is injected with a disease and must figure out how to cure it.
A movie about diseases that people want because celebrities have it? I can’t wait to see this movie.
