Even though it hasn’t officially arrived in the US of A, Park Chan-Wook’s Lady Vengeance (aka Sympathy for Lady Vengeance) still made the Best of 2005 lists of Devin (HERE), Russ (HERE) and myself (HERE), and it’ll probably show up on quite a few more when moviegoers assemble their own 2006 lists in about 11 months.

The movie closes out Park’s thematically linked "revenge trilogy" following the shattering Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and the savage Oldboy, and revolves around a beautiful woman wrongly imprisoned for the murder of a child and her subsequent complex plans for retribution.

Tartan is bringing the tragic tale stateside, and they’re looking for a little advice on promotional imagery, with seven possibilities currently under consideration. The ones here my personal favorites of the bunch — although #2 carries a slight implication that it’s an action flick (it most certainly is not), #5 retains the striking use of red that permeates the film. I really prefer the close-up image in #7 of Yeong-ae Lee with the Brotherhood of the Wolf leather gear and crimson eye shadow, but I hate the font they’ve used.

But what the hell do I know about marketing? Head RIGHT HERE and make your own pick!
