Scooper Max Rockatansky has supplied us with the first hi-res image of Davey Jones from the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man’s Chest.
A different version of this pic – way less clear – had been making the
rounds before, but now in hi-res you can make out every single tuber
sadly growing off Davey’s face. How he’s fallen since the Monkees.
Max has seen other images of the barnacled pirate, and shares this info with us: Another
thing that you can’t really see in the images released so far or in the
trailer is that he has a huge lobster-like claw for a left hand and
what appears to be a peg right leg. When you look closer at the leg
though, it’s like a crab leg.
Very cool! Davey Jones is going to be appearing in both of the Pirates
sequels, and I for one hope they make his toy look just as cool as the
character. But is it make-up or CGI? How much Bill Nighy is in that
picture? Sadly, Max doesn’t know. Click on the picture above for the
