I love Borat and Bruno, and I’m fascinated by what the The Dictator could turn out to be considering its unlikely source material. With Sacha Baron Cohen teaming back up with Larry Charles and being joined by Ben Kingsley (and a female comedian I’m still not sure about, but might be Anna Farris), we can expect something weird and great. If this first look at Cohen in character is any indication, it will also fit right in with his other fish-out-of-water movies.
Nothing like a deposed Arab dictator to get into the American spirit. I’m hoping to hear more about this one soon, as its likely to end up high on my list of anticipated comedies come next year. Nobody pushes the boundaries quite like Cohen.
The Dictator is set for release on May 11th, 2012.
