Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is bringing war back home. Following the events of Modern Warfare 2 where… well, I know someone betrayed someone else, and there was something about nukes. Was there a knife or a hand-to-hand fight on a cliff? Something like that happened.

Anyway after those memorable events led to a satisfying climax, the world has been thrown into chaos, and the war has spread to Europe and America. To be more specific: America, England, France and Germany.

Anyway, a trailer just premiered last night on ESPN (war’s a sport, right?) that shows off the different locations. Watch it and feel if you get the impression that the developers want you to cheer as your home country is featured on screen being shot to pieces. The destruction is certainly impressive but then again, the unplayable sequences in Call of Duty usually are.

This is the first Modern Warfare game that Infinity Ward didn’t finish- after their very public dispute with Activision new studio Sledgehammer Games was commissioned to finish the game. Let’s see if they can bump up the gameplay a bit and make an exciting campaign. After all, the series has some big competition in the upcoming Battlefield 3.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 hits November 8th.
