THR has word that Thomas Ian Nicholas, the last holdout, has agreed to reprise his role of Kevin Myers in the upcoming American Reunion, aka American Pie Wedding 4, aka Latest Franchise to Reboot After a Decade. Because that’s worked so well recently in films like Scream 4. Other than Shannon Elizabeth being totally shaved and Jason Biggs sodomizing a pastry, about the only thing I can even remember about this franchise involving Nicholas was that he tongued Tara Reidsnatch back when that prospect seemed enjoyable. Since then, it’s been guest spots on Medium and Grey’s Anatomy and bit parts in Life Is Hot In Cracktown and The Hitman…the one without Olyphant. So not sure why Nicholas was thinking that the project…dubious as it’s likely to be, hinged on his return. To paraphrase Chris Rock, there’s almost no one associated with this project that doesn’t need a hit like a crackhead.
Alyson Hannigan, Seann William Scott, Jason Biggs, Tara Reid, Mena Suvari, Chris Klein, Eddie Kaye Thomas and Eugene Levy are all slated to return to the filom which, I’m assuming hinges on a class reunion. Also, it won’t really be a return for Levy, who’s whored himself out to the direct-to-video dreck sporting the franchise tag of this movie for the last eight years. Harold & Kumar’s Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg did the script and will be directing. Chris Moore and Craig Perry are producing. No word on if Natasha Lyonne can get away from breaking into apartments and threatening sexual battery on dogs to join the film.
