So yeah, you knew immediately that Joel Schumacher was going to be in the first sentence of this article.  The director who brought anatomical correctness to the Batverse has just signed on to the suspense thriller, The Hive, for Robert Stein and Michael Helfant’s Troika Pictures, says Variety.   The announcement is part of a slate of films just unveiled by the production company, including the romancer, Paradise Cove, to be directed by Kenny Ortega; Ten, for Ice Cube’s Cube Vision shingle; and the comedy, One Fell Swoop, to be directed by Charles Herman-Wurmfeld (Kissing Jessica Stein).  Ice Cube is in talks to star in Ten, with Peter Cornwell (The Haunting in Connecticut) in negotiations to direct.

The Hive is from a script by Rich D’Ovidio (Exit Wounds) and centers on a 911 operator who must deal with a killer from her past in order to save the life of a young girl.  Schumacher’s most recent film was 2010’s Twelve, starring Kiefer Sutherland.  He’s currently wrapping Trespass with Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman.
