The Nutshell
Magda Kassar is the warden at Razik Penitentiary in Prague. She makes a good living by using the female inmates as prostitutes, sending them to the wealthy elites of the country in exchange for riches. Some of the customers have a few sick tendencies that result in the women dying, so Magda must work to keep brining in replacements. She accomplishes this by framing innocent women by means of planting drugs on them.
Alex Morrison is the latest victim of Magda’s scheme. Two henchmen place drugs in her carry-on bag as she travels to visit her sister Suzanne. Once she arrives in Prague, Alex is quickly arrested and dragged off to Razik. While Alex must do her best to survive in Razik and take part in numerous scenes featuring gratuitous nudity, her sister Suzanne does her best to devise an escape.

The Package
Chained Heat 2 is presented in its original aspect ratio of 1.85:1 with 5.1 surround sound and stereo tracks available. The transfer is a little soft in places but is sharp when it needs to be. The only extra features are some trailers, which give a frightening insight into the minds of movie studios. According to the studios, if you buy Chained Heat 2, it doesn’t mean that you’re a fan of prison movies, it means you’re a fan of movies with “2” in the title!
Trailers for A Nightmare on Elm Street 2, Critters 2, Rush Hour 2 and Final Destination 2 are on the disc. Do they really think that there is an entire subculture of people out there who just love watching “2” movies and nothing else? To be fair, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 is at least kind of related to Chained Heat 2, but there’s a fine line between nude women in showers and a nude male gym teacher being tortured in a shower.
The Lowdown
Softcore women’s prison movies used to be the staple of late night Cinemax programming. They’re not that hard to do. Just have an innocent woman get sent to prison and show her doing the things that women typically do, like taking showers and lathering each other up. These simple skin flicks are now dying a slow death as we enter the new millennium, because quite frankly this stuff is pretty tame now and newer generations don’t have the patience to suffer through ninety minutes of tripe to catch sight of a few bare breasts.
Out of all the ways to die, being killed by a gang of hot women inmates is one of the better ones.
For a film created for the sole purpose of showing nudity, Chained Heat 2 seems to be in love with its own stupid plot. The majority of the film is devoted to setting up some deep tale of corruption in the justice system and the warden’s fervent hatred of junkies even though she turns out to be one herself. There are also a few scenes of Brigitte Nielsen getting whipped and moaning if you’re in the mood to be repulsed.
It’s great that the film comes up with a shocking twist that no one can figure out since it involves a character seen on the screen for half a second, but that’s not why anyone wanted to see this movie. Leave that type of stuff for other boring prison movies like Breakdown Palace. You promised lame softcore action and for breaking your promise you are sentenced to life in the bargain bin, buried under copies of your sisters Caged Heat and Red Heat.
