Immigrating
to Perth, Western Australia in 1991, he finished high-school and
university and is now a full time graphic designer and illustrator,
blending his unique cartoon style and multi-layered designs into award
winning fliers and logos. He works full time at and advertising agency
and has created a wide variety of corporate design and identity work,as
well as illsutration work for international publications such as
‘neomu’ and ‘tokyion’
Left Turn is Simon’s first foray into full-time comic production, with Chaos Blooms (also written by Nick Nunziata) coming to comic shops in early 2006. When not drawing and experimenting in PhotoShop
(TM) Simon likes to produce Breaks and Tech-House tunes in his studio
(which has seen him perform live supporting acts such as Carl Cox, and
in the main room of the Ministry of Sound Tours), watching DVD’s,
eating Cadbury’s fine selection of products, drinking Vodka and
Jeigemeister (not at the same time) and feeding his pain-in-the-arse
cat ‘Chocolate’. His ancient knees stop him from skateboarding as much
as he likes, but don’t prevent the old-bastard from cutting a rug on
the dance floors of Perth’s seedier nightclubs, trying desperately hard
not to appear like the seedy old git, he’s surely becoming.
He
hopes you’ll enjoy his translation of Nick’s excellent script, and
welcomes any critisms that come his way. Not that I’ll, erm, he’ll take
any notice, but feel free to vent.
Nick Nunziata
was born in 1972 in Bronx, New York to a man and a woman also employing
the Nunziata surname. Greasy Italian-Americans with a little Polish
added in to soil what could have been a lovely bloodline.
After
relocating to Atlanta in 1980, he began a series of rather lackluster
home movies, comic books, and musical ideas before becoming an adult
and attempting to create new lackluster comic books, movies, and a web
site, CHUD.com. Opinions are mixed on whether those entities as well as
his musical ventures are a success but still he continues.
As he begins to ease off the web and into filmmaking as a producer with MEG at New Line Cinema and a few other top secret projects, his comic book output is growing with Mythopolis and RON with Lewis Cox III, Left Turn and Chaos Blooms with Simon Wright, and The Crawl with an as-yet undetermined artist.
He
is married with a lovely wife and daughter and more pets than one
should aspire to own. To work with guys like Simon and Lewis indicates Nick
has lived a somewhat charmed life.
For its first week, Left Turn
