About 3 weeks ago, I was asked on facebook by fellow CHUD contributer/Chewer, Patrick Ripoll about doing a guest spot on his Podcast with his friend, Jim. The subject of the podcast was action director, John McTiernan. Since I was the one person he knew to have a good knowledge of action films, he figured asking me to do a guest spot would be a good idea. Of course, I loved the idea of doing another podcast, and this was a chance to get to know a fellow Chewer, who has been on the boards as long as I have. (he joined a little bit before I did).
This past saturday, we recorded it. We spent a good 15 chatting and he and Jim were letting me in on the process of how they do their podcast. It’s a really great podcast too. They add in sound effects, and trailer spots. Really cool stuff.
We then got into the meat of the discussion having a fun time joking around and talking about some of the movies we’ve seen during the week, and then got on to talking about 2 of McTiernan’s films. Predator and Die Hard. Then we proceeded to go through the rest of his really short resume, and the podcast recording part was finished. After that, we chatted for a bit longer, and then we were done.
I had a really fun time, and Patrick and Jim also agreed that it was a fun time, and invited me to guest again some time in the future, and I said that I would certainly love to.
The Director’s Club Podcast is a great listen, and I urge everyone to check them out. I had a really fun time guesting on it.
