Though xenomorphs have been popping up all over the Internet, Ridley Scott’s Prometheus remains shrouded in secrecy.

And that’s exactly the way he wants it. “I was insistent that the script not leak onto the internet, where it gets dissected out of context, which spoils it for everyone,” Scott told the Daily Mail.   All of the actors had to sign secrecy clauses, and read the script in Scott (or a security guard)’s presence.  In discussing his new methods, Scott inadvertently revealed the new members of the cast: Idris Elba, Kate Dickie, and Sean Harris.   They join Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, and Charlize Theron.

Again, we don’t know who they are playing, but that is one hell of a talented cast. Theron (who I do like) really does seem to be the one Hollywood aberration since Scott clearly is favoring lesser known European talent.    What a solid cast though.   It certainly strengthens hope this will be a film more in the vein of the original Alien, since all of the performers are character actors, not action superstars. I’m envisioning a lot of tense moments in labs, cockpits, and mess halls.
