February 20

Media: The NBA All-Star game for as long as I could tolerate it. That shit really is no fun at all.

Music: Listened to the latest mixes of some of the new tunes on the new headphones. Pretty good!

Comedy: Naught!

Food/Drink: The Hibiscus is an amazing vegetarian breakfast joint in Grayton Beach. Nice frittatas and they had free Mimosas for folks who donated to the local animal shelter. It was nice. I snacked on leftovers for lunch and then split a really good pizza with Hawkins. Booze consisted of rum and port wine.

Family: After breakfast all departed, except for Sofia and I. We had a Daddy Day with swimming, playing, beach activity, and attempts to win prizes. It was nice. It was weird having us both by ourselves so far from home and I felt really nervous about having her out of my site even behind locked doors in a safe town.

Friends: The previously mentioned Air Force gentleman. A nice time was had. His gracious Amaretto donation was a good way to end a costly day.

Work: Just the daily shit. I really was more burned out than I thought with these damn site launches and redesigns.

Art: Nope.

Goodies: Amaretto DiSaronno.

Screenwriting: Yes, a little on the short.

Projects: Nope.

Minutia: In this spot I mentioned needing something good to happen. I went to the ATM to get funds for the ride home. As my daughter and I walked the beach at sunset… it left my pocket. I don’t know when or how. But it left, probably when we sat down at the surf and got caught up in dolphin sighting. High winds, loose shorts, this is how sadness is built.

Activity: Biking. Running. A lot of swimming with a little beast latched to my neck. Cleaning a three story house. Packing bags and filling cars.

Shrink’s Chair: I am becoming a less compassionate human being. All signs point towards me becoming a meanie. Also, my relatives in Florida are very religious. There’s a situation going on there stemming from said religion and a disagreement regarding it. A few years ago, I’d have cared…

Asshole(s) of the Day: The guy next door who watched me very closely after my daughter screamed in the pool. Like I was torturing her. Stick your nose in a blender, fucker. I’m a great Daddy.

True Trivia: I have never understood the love The Who gets.

Link of the Day: The New Mastersounds. If these dudes are in your area SEE THEM.

Looking ahead to tomorrow: Long drives. Sad times.
