February 18

Media: There are three televisions on all the time here and they’re all broadcasting dogshit.

Music: Not enough. I needed some for my own therapeutic value.

Comedy: Das ist Nil!

Food/Drink: A nice burger at Bud and Alley’s in Seaside and a whole mess of food made by mom and myself for the gang. Cavatelli in homemade tomato sauce with locatelli cheese (mom). Chicken Spinazi/florentine (me). Garlic bread (me). Homemade white clam sauce and liguini (me). Delight. I had some of the Chivas Hawkins brought and a nice little nightcap of amaretto.

Family: Full-on. Sofia and I drove to Destin and beyond. Almost an hour each way. We went to a few beach shops, saw a little shopping village, and then hit Florida’s Gulfarium. It is so small time it’s not funny. Tacky as hell and something that hasn’t been improved in what seems like thirty years. Translation: Sofia loved it. After that, we rode about ten miles on bikes with the kids, narrowly missing sunset and having to ride back in the dark. A bit spooky, with the little man bawling the whole way. We then made a feast and had deck time.

Friends: Andrew Hawkins showed for dinner and then the smoke and boozing.

Work: Some. I found myself getting a little grumpy about some stuff and realized I should back off.

Art: Nope.

Goodies: Nope.

Screenwriting: Nope.

Projects: Nope.

Minutia: I hit a brick wall regarding my tolerance in sharing a house with so many people.

Activity: Biking. Swimming. Running. Living.

Shrink’s Chair: There’s a lot of really diverse people here, but the way people overvalue their dogs really, REALLY sickens me.

Asshole(s) of the Day: The lady at the beach that seemed REALLY thrilled to tell us how amazing the sunset we missed was.

True Trivia: I want to learn how to sew so I can doctor my shirts for my slightly too short torso.

Link of the Day: I love Find a Grave so much.

Looking ahead to tomorrow: More!
