Director Stanley Kubrick remains one of the all-time great pictorial illustrators working in cinema. Aside from having a masters touch with comedy, suspense, and dramatic narrative, the man could frame the shit out of scene (to put it in classy academic terms). Even his lesser works look amazing.

Richard Vezina has made an elegant visual tribute to Kubrick, examining the filmmaker’s “eye” by comparing and contrasting his films through nothing more than montage and clever juxtaposition. Vezina isn’t going to blow any minds here, but I don’t think that was his goal. The video isn’t short, so you may not watch the entire thing, or you may skip around, but it is a nice highlight of some gorgeous Kubrick imagery.
