January 30

Media: Delightfully, none.

Music: Finished two Wizard’s Keys tunes.

Comedy: Nada.

Food/Drink: Some rolled up Cuban goodness. Some Southwestern goodness.

Family: Hung with the gang for a while after work. Then joined Mom for some cards.

Friends: Got spend some time with Steve. Played cards with the card gang. Good stuff.

Work: Organizational stuff took the forefront but a decent bit of progress was made. More time spent figuring out the technical stuff relating to the new site as well as trying to get closer to the root of this whole “virus issue”. We’ve involved our ad company, the people who built the site, and there’s no damn conclusive answer. Making matters worse is the folks on the boards who first of all think we’re deceiving them and secondly make the situation worse by being combative about it. Like we have anything to do with this, or like that our productivity and the readers’ experience is being hampered. Not to mention that ultimately it makes it harder for us to pay the bills.

Art: Nope.

Screenwriting: Nope.

Projects: Nope.

Minutia: The podcast arrived and was great. It’d be really special if it caught on and people responded.

Activity: Nein.

Shrink’s Chair: It’s amazing how people think that by using all of the hot terms and mentioning all sorts of fancy software out there, my insanely long tenure and experience on the internet is negated. I don’t feel disrespected, but there’s a lot to be said for experience and ground level ingratiation as opposed to what the new issues of Business Magazine X tells you how you’re supposed to talk.

Asshole of the Day: That dude at Jeffrey’s whose desire to be the center of attention nullifies all things which are good.

Looking ahead to tomorrow: A day closer to baseball.

The Day’s Rating:

7/10
