Here’s a baby I’ve been anticipating for quite some time. Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride is the follow up to his (and I can’t NOT mention Henry Selick) first stop-motion masterpiece, The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Oddly enough, the film is loosely based on a 19th century Russian folktale which is supposedly built on the historical fact that anti-Semitic gangs would often attack Jewish wedding parties, kill, and then bury the bride in her ceremonial wedding gown. Though I highly doubt the film will touch on that glowingly cheerful facet, it’s an interesting tidbit nontheless.

Anyway, the real purpose for this news item was to show you guys the new one sheet and to inform that WB has now got the official site up and running with new images, downloads, the trailer, and other goodies of the darkly whimsical.  Check it out.  Click the poster below to be whisked away…
