EA and Anchro Bay recently announced that there will be another Dead Space animated film hitting dvd and blu-ray. Entitled Dead Space: Aftermath, the film will hit on January 25th to coincide with the release of Dead Space 2.
Of course, the saner among us will stop and remember how bad Dead Space Downfall was and cringe a bit at the thought of another animated take on the material, especially since producer Joe Goyette and supervising director Mike Disa are returning. Once again it will be developed by Film Roman and feature everyone’s favorite necromorphs tearing apart humans and being dismembered by plasma cutters.
The official synopsis: In DEAD SPACE AFTERMATH, the year is 2509 and not only has Earth lost contact with the USG Ishimura and Isaac Clarke, but also the USG O’Bannon, which is the first responder ship sent to rescue them. Four crew members of the O’Bannon have survived, but no one knows what happened to the rest of the crew, what they were doing, or what secrets they may be holding. All will be revealed…in the Aftermath!
They really love playing with those name references, don’t they?
As you can see from the trailer below there are a lot of animation styles used in the film, the poorly-animated CGI one perhaps looking the most out of place. What do you think, would this be worth another go? Or are you going to just dive into the game?
