When I first saw the movie posters for You Again, I thought it was another one of those Big/Vice Versa/Freaky Friday/21 Again/13 Going on 30-style body switch fantasies involving mothers and daughters swapping places, getting into awkward quasi-sexual moments with teenagers, and learning something in the process.

Apparently, though, it has nothing to do with metaphysical crises but instead the horrors of reliving the worst parts of high school.  Which, actually for most people, may be the same thing.

The official synopsis:  For Marnie (Kristen Bell), high school was a horror movie, and her brother’s wedding is the sequel when her archrival comes back to haunt her as his bride.  Its nice girl versus mean girl in this hysterical reunion with the one person Marnie would really like to forget. And if that weren’t enough, Marnie’s mom (Jamie Lee Curtis) reunites with her own high school nemesis (Sigourney Weaver). Complete with hilarious, never-before-seen bonus material, You Again is one crazy comedy that’ll keep you laughing again and again.

And Betty White it’s in it.

Not exactly the most romantic sounding movie of all time, it’s nonetheless being released just in time for Valentine’s Day 2011 on Blu-ray and DVD.  Both editions4 will come with special features including featurettes Following Fickman: On Set with the Director, Ask the Cast, Funny or Die, and deleted scenes.  Only available on the Blu-ray will be the same as everything listed above as well as even more deleted scenes and Blooper Dance Party.

Both versions are rated PG: the one-disc DVD costing $29.99; the Blu-ray Combo Pack (BR+DVD) will run you $39.99.  They’ll be available in stores on February 8th, 2011.
