Anchor Bay has just announced plans to bring both the original I Spit On Your Grave and the 2010 remake to dvd and blu-ray on February 8th, 2011. Truly, the perfect Valentine’s gift for that special girl in your life!

The artwork on the releases is obvious but hey, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. The poster folds on the original is a nice touch!

The 2010 version will come with a filmmaker’s commentary, a behind-the-scenes featurette, trailers and deleted scenes.

The 1978 original features a brand new high-def transfer, Dolby TrueHD audio and a new interview with writer/producer/director Meir Zarchi about the legacy of his most famous film.

Unfortunately what it doesn’t have is the Joe Bob
Briggs commentary that was on the Elite dvd, which was worth a purchase by itself and seems to still be the definitive version (though it’s woefully out of print). I Spit On Your Grave isn’t the kind of film that needs to come in 1080p, anyway, it’s a dirty and brutal film that’s still shocking today.

Of course now the real question is if you’re going to buy both of them and attempt a double feature…
