It looks as if Disney is really feeling its own Tron revival.  Aside from promoting the hell out of Tron: Legacy for the better part of a year now (we’ve been slightly complicit in that), the Mouse has just greenlit a spinoff toon, says Variety.  The project will be titled Tron: Uprising and will air on the Disney XD network starting in the summer of 2012.  Charlie Bean (“Samurai Jack”) will exec produce and direct, while Tron: Legacy writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz will serve as
consulting producers. “Tron: Legacy” co-producer Justin Springer is also
on board.
The voice cast will include Elijah Wood, Emmanuelle
Chriqui, Mandy Moore, Paul Reubens and Lance Henriksen. The real news in this line-up though?  Bruce Boxleitner
will be reprising his role as Tron.  This development follows word that a 10-part Tron microseries which will be airing next fall.

Disney XD has also picked up the live-action comedy, A.N.T. Farm, starring China McClain and will air interstitials starring Phineas and Ferb as talkshow hosts titled Take Two with Phineas and Ferb.  Guests already line up include Seth Rogen, Andy Samberg, Tony Hawk and Randy Jackson.  Another project picked up by XD is the live-action Wasabi Warriors, about a ragtag group of kids at the worst martial arts studio in the country.
