The trailer for the new Jason Statham / Paddy Considine actioner, Blitz is now over at Yahoo! Movies. It’s not a stirring tale about the plight of the doomed Chicago USFL team; rather, it features Statham as a tough cop who is tasked with tracking down a serial killer who is preying on cops. It’s based on the novel by Ken Bruen and is part of a series, which means it has potential franchise implications. It’s also the first project to be produced by Lionsgate UK.
Nick was pretty high on the Statham and Considine pairing last year, and this looks like it could warrant it. The film is directed by Elliott Lester (Love is the Drug) and written by Nathan Parker (Moon). Luke Evans, Aiden Gillen and David Morrissey co-star in the project, which is due sometime next year.
