Not really sure why Sir Michael Caine felt the need to do it, but he did.  He recently went on BBC Radio and spoiled the ending to Christopher Nolan’s brilliant Inception. Caine was promoting his autobiography to the radio station and was asked about the final scene.  My personal belief about the ending is what the consensus probably is.  THR has the story essentially as is, but MTV Movies Blog posits that this is merely Caine’s opinion.  So it’s left up to you to interpret what you believe, like the movie.
