Here’s one big impact that Inception has already had: it’s making IFC put Following, Nolan’s first film, back out in theaters. For those attempting to puzzle the meanings and metaphors of Inception, Following could be key. For instance the lead character in following is named Cobb.

UPDATE: Peter from Slashfilm contacted IFC and it turns out that the film is not coming back to theaters. It’s coming to IFC On Demand on your cable box. Which is kind of dumb, as it’s been on Netflix Watch Instantly forever. Still, it’s a cool trailer and maybe this’ll convince you to queue it up.
But bad form, IFC. I like you guys, but this feels like a bait and switch!
