THR.com reports that Simon Pegg is in talks to reprise his role as tech geek Benji Dunn for Mission: Impossible IV.  Brad Bird is in the director’s chair this time around for the Tom Cruise franchise, with J.J. Abrams producing with Cruise and Paula Wagner.  Pegg was introduced to the franchise in M:I III.  This would be the third outing for Pegg and producer Abrams, who directed him in the previous installment and also as Scotty in Star Trek.

In the meantime, Pegg will be seen in the upcoming next Narnia pic, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, as well as Greg Mottola’s Paul, The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, and the Star Trek sequel.  M:I IV is rumored for a September start.
