A Town Called Panic is about to hit home video here in North America, so you can finally see the delightful movie that Devin rightfully gave a 10 out of 10. These are the kinds of animated shorts that you would have been absolutely hooked on had you seen them at a young age, but would only have really appreciated them later on in life. They’re just so damn clever, shorts that meld slapstick humor and inventive sight gags with some truly surreal and whimsical humor. “Madcap” is the word here.

If you want to get a good idea of what to expect from the feature length version look no further
than the many shorts available online, some of my favorites which I’ve embedded below courtesy of Atom.com.

Keep in mind that these shorts have been redubbed in English- the original is in French. The voicework is still pretty great and the characters still shine through but, like always, there’s nothing like hearing the original language.
