One of the most entertaining films at this year’s New York Asian Film
Festival is Chaw,
a Korean horror/comedy about a giant killer pig. It hits all the same
notes that Jaws did- a town that doesn’t want to close down (and lose profits) despite
mysterious animal attacks, a cop trying to protect the civilians, a great hunter
who sets off to take him down. It’s ridiculous, silly and a helluva lot
of fun, and you might be able to see it for free!
Chaw is playing at the NYAFF two times, next Monday June 28th at 8:45 pm and on Thursday July 1st at 1:15 pm. Both screenings are at the Walter Reade Theater. See this page for details.
Check the official NYAFF site for more info on this and the rest of their incredible lineup!
