Yup, that’s 50 Cent, although he’s looking more like 10 Cent these days. And no, he doesn’t have AIDS or something – he lost 54 pounds to play a cancer-stricken football player in Things Fall Apart.
It’s not a movie version of the Chinua Achebe book but rather a movie that Fiddy wrote himself (along with Brian A Miller). Not only will Curtis Jackson be playing a guy with cancer, he’ll be playing a guy with cancer who is in his senior year of college! Every bit of that is a stretch for Fiddy.
Laugh now, but major weight change always gets the attention of the Academy. Could this film be 50 Cent’s moment in the sun?
