Jonah Hex is one of those comic book properties that most folks born after 1985 have never heard of, probably thinking it’s some biblical region in the Atlantic lost to time and floods. It’s also one of those comic book properties that is both surpremely cinematic and oddly bizarre as a film since it’s not even close to a grade A character and the name recognition factor is near nil. Plus, as much as I love Josh Brolin, he’s not yet a guy you can anchor a film around. At least financially. Sadly, Megan Fox is the name most people recognize when they see the trailer.
Either way, it’s the kind of film we love here at CHUD.com because it’s just crazy enough to work. Jonah Hex being made is a really good thing, and seeing Josh Brolin as the crazy looking gunslinger is going to be a joy to behold.
