I mean, the guy’s got everything, fame, looks, money, a girlfriend who ain’t afraid to get nekkid publicly…  It stands to reason that somebody that well off would have some kind of dirt somewhere, and now we know what Efron is doing: he’s laundering money.

At least he will be when he stars in and produces Snabba cash for Warner Bros.  Snabba is based on a novel by [Swede] Jens Lapidus and was a major hit in
its home country this year. The thriller follows three
interconnected storylines involving drugs and organized crime, with
the main character a young man (played in the original by Joel
Kinnaman) who hopes to strike it rich quickly by becoming a runner
for a coke dealer. Efron would play the runner in the WB
version.

This was reportedly a hot potato on which several studios were trying make into their own steak fries until Warners won out.  Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven and Richard Suckle are
producing along with original producer Fredrik Wikstrom,
along with Efron’s manager, Jason Barrett . Michael
Hjorth will exec produce. No word on a director nor writer yet.  Efron next has Charlie St. Cloud upcoming for his 17 Again director Burr Steers.  In the meantime, I’m going to be keeping my on him.  I know he’s probably killed somebody somewhere, stolen a car, cheated on his taxes or ripped that tag off his mattress or some shit.
