Last year I saw two movies that really filled me with the joy of cinema. One was Quentin Tarantino’s masterpiece Inglorious Basterds. The other was a documentary about a contender for the worst movie ever made, Troll 2.

Best Worst Movie is directed by Michael Paul Stephenson, who as a child actor was the star of Troll 2. In the film he, along with the affable Dr. George Hardy, who played his dad in the movie, explores the weird fandom and appreciation that has sprung up around this truly terrible, but oddly compelling, film. It’s funny and sweet and reminds you why you love movies in the first place.

The film is finally getting a limited theatrical release (click here to see if it’s coming by you), and now it has a theatrical poster. Created by Tyler Stout – an artist familiar to fans of the Alamo Drafthouse’s posters – the poster for Best Worst Movie is a busy delight. I’m sure it’ll be for sale quite soon.

Don’t miss Best Worst Movie if it’s playing anywhere near you! You don’t need to have seen Troll 2 to enjoy it… although I heartily recommend you see Troll 2 anyway.
