Just a quick mention that producers of Starz’ Spartacus: Blood and Sand
have immediately halted production as star Andy Whitfield has been
diagnosed with early-stage non-Hodgkins lymphoma. He will be
treated immediately, says THR.com.
“I’m receiving excellent care, and am feeling strong, positive and
determined with an army of support behind me,” Whitfield said.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Andy,” says Chris Albrecht,
president and CEO of Starz. “His health, of course, is our primary
concern. He has our complete support during this difficult
time.”
The cancer is said to be “very treatable.” So here’s hoping Whitfield makes a speedy recovery and gets back to work killing people.
