Anchor Bay has just premiered the trailer for After.Life. Badly punctuated title and silly poster design aside, the film’s been in the works for quite a while, with Kate Bosworth and Alfred Molina originally supposed to star. They even released this teaser poster of that version. But now they’ve got an equally solid cast, and after seeing her first short go to Sundance, Agnieszka Wojtowicz-Vosloo (say that five times fast) is ready to unleash her first feature film on the world.
The plot is somewhat reminiscent of an old Tales From the Crypt episode (Abra Cadaver)
where a person hears, sees and feels after death, and ends up experiencing it himself. In After.Life Christina Ricci wakes up after a car accident to find herself in a funeral home, and Liam Neeson preparing her body for her big day. She doesn’t feel dead, though, and understandably starts to freak out. Neeson tries to reassure her that only he has the ability to communicate with the dead and can help her out, but what’s the truth? She tries getting in touch with her boyfriend (Justin Long) for help.
The trailer is now up on Apple. Check it out here.
After.Life hits theaters April 9th.
