Spike Lee is going to follow-up his phenomenal When The Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts with a sequel that begins shooting this week. The brilliant filmmaker is headed down to New Orleans to look at clean up efforts and to revisit some of the people he talked to in the original documentary. Spike will also be traveling to other parts of the Gulf Coast; some critics claimed that Spike ignored these areas. It’s cool that he’s listening to the critiques and taking them into account.

When the Levees Broke is a tragic film, and I have a bad feeling that five years later we may see some of the same tragedy. If you missed When the Levees Broke, it’s available on DVD right now, and you can order it through CHUD by clicking here.
