Can you believe it’s already been nine years since Scream 3? I know a lot of you refuse to believe that movie even exists- while the second one took a complete nosedive from the first Scream, the third seemed to explode after takeoff- but it does, and while it threatened to kill off the series for good the fourth installment is still chugging away.
Courtney Cox will naturally be back as Gale Weathers (alongside Neve Campbell and David Arquette) and recently dropped some ideas about what the plot might be to the Associated Press.
“There are really only a few of us that survived,” says Cox, stating the obvious.
But what about the rumors that Gale Weathers and Dewey will be killed off in the opening scenes of the film? She doesn’t think it will happen.
“They’re probably back living in Woodsboro,” Cox said referring to the small California town that was the setting of the first film. “I think that he’s probably still deputy, and I’ve had a lot of kids. I don’t know. I’m probably miserable, and then I’m sure a lot of murdering will happen.”
Williamson is still working on the script right now and I’m actually really digging the idea of making them older and having their kids be menaced by a crazy Stab fan or something. It could bring a new twist to the stale series and invoke different kinds of scares involving parental fears- provided they go for a far more serious effort than the last one, of course.
Remember Jay and Silent Bob and scream on the messageboards.
