Denzel Washington is making a return to Broadway in a revival of August Wilson’s Pulitzer prize-winning Fences.  Washington will be portraying Troy Maxson, a role originated by James Earl Jones.  Kenny Leon (A Raisin in the Sun) is in talks to direct.  Washington will begin rehearsals in February for an April through July run of the play.  The two-time Oscar winner’s next big screen appearance will be in the Book of Eli on Jan. 15th.

Halle Berry is set to host the PBS production, For Love of Liberty: The Story of America’s Black Patriots in February.  Using primary source material including letters, diaries, speeches
and military records, Liberty aims to document African-American
battlefield accomplishments dating back to the Revolutionary War and
its first casualty, Crispus Attucks.
  Louis Gossett, Jr. is exec producing, Colin
Powell will introduce the project and Avery Brooks is narrating.  Liberty will also feature choral arrangements by Andrae
Crouch. Frank Martin co-wrote and directed and produced the special.

Robert Patrick will be making an appearance on the upcoming third season of Chuck.  Patrick will play Col. Keller, a mysterious figure from Casey’s past in “Chuck Versus the Tic Tac.”  Patrick’s role should come about mid-way through the season.

Christine Baranski will make a return appearance on The Big Bang Theory as Leonard’s (Johnny Galecki’s) cold fish and intellectual mother in an upcoming episode.  Baranski also co-stars on another CBS show, The Good Wife, with Julianna Margulies.

Pam Grier will make a guest appearance on Smallville in a multi-episode arc as Agent Amanda Waller.  She will make her debut in the upcoming two-part Justice Society episode, Legends.
