DICE just announced that there will be a public beta for Battlefield Bad Company 2, and, wonder of wonders, it will be exclusively for the PS3. At least at first.

Starting on November 19th you can join in on 24 player matches (6 more than Modern Warfare 2!) on one map, Arica Harbour. The beta will showcase a brand new multiplayer mode (one of four included in the game) called Rush.

This new map displays a superb balance of vehicle and infantry combat, as the American assault unit attacks the Russian army base with full force, advancing further through a beautiful desert town and towards the industrial area in a desperate attempt to overtake the Arica Harbour. Heavy vehicle warfare on the first bases gradually turns into an intense infantry fight as the level progresses, showcasing this best-in-class online war experience.

Check out the trailer below for an idea of what to expect, and head on over to battlefield.com for details on how to get in. In December, PC gamers will be invited into a beta as well, and then there will be a multiplayer demo release on 360, PS3 and PC so everyone can jump in.
